Alone, yet not alone.

I set a goal for myself. To blog at least once a week. Let's see if I can do it!
This last week as I struggled to prepare for a written final and an oral final, sometimes I felt alone.  I knew I had to concentrate and finish, but it was hard. I promised myself I would not be distracted by Facebook, pinterest, or reading blogs! I stuck with that promise, but in a moment to escape my homework I went to here. Lds.org. I figured it wasn't cheating because it was for my spiritual well being.  I clicked around trying to forget about my final, and ended up on the site for youth. (If you haven't seen this site, it's amazing. Go check it out here!) I clicked on this random video, and watched it.  It has blessed in my life.  I no longer felt alone on my final, I felt like I could do it.  It gave me strength and pushed me through. It also helped me to have greater courage to stand up for my personal standards, and a greater want to do good. I believe the lord is always willing to help us and inspire us, and for me on a certain day it was through a video.
Please watch!

Happy Monday everyone. You are not alone!

The day she was born

The day my sister was born was an incredible day. I was lucky enough to be there for her birth. It was an amazing experience! It was a very touching experience and I will never regret it. So glad I was there!

2012 pictures

This year insted of doing "picture a day" I decided that I will take a picture once a week. (It's way easier than once a day!) I started googling ideas and came across a "52 weeks" project. It's where you take a picture once a week based on a theme. I have started to make a list of themes I want to do. Last week's theme was "My favorite time of the day". Mine is when the sun is about to set and the leafs look beautiful!

Have any themes you think I should do?

Hello friends!
It's a new year, and along with a new year comes a hope/goal to blog more. One of my Christmas gifts this year was adobe light room 3 photo editing software. I installed it yesterday and have been playing around with it. Hopefully I can edit my pictures better and share them on my blog this year. Obviously you can't see the "before" pictures but I will show you some "after" pictures. Enjoy these pictures of my niece who is one, and loves food! (Just like me!)

Like I said... she loves her food!

It Christmas time people. Break out the oreos!

I found this wonderful holiday treat online.

Oreo bark!

Oreos + white chocolate = rich & creamy goodness.

I made two pans during thanksgiving week and it was so good!

I think this would be great for all those holiday parties, the neighbors or just for yourself to eat!

Preparation: Line an 8×8 pan with enough parchment or wax paper for a 1 inch overhang on each side.
  • 10oz. Ghirardelli white chocolate chips
  • 15 regular size Oreos, plus 3 more for topping

Instructions:

  1. Place chocolate in a double boiler over low heat and stir continuously, until chocolate is completely melted. Transfer chocolate to a heat proof bowl and cool for 5 minutes. Add chopped Oreos and stir to combine. Pour mixture into pan. Use a spatula to smooth out top.
  2. Finely chop remaining Oreos and sprinkle on top. Chill for about 10 minutes until chocolate becomes solid.
  3. Lift whole bark out of pan by holding onto parchment or wax overhang. Split bark into pieces with a fork.

Recipe found here.

Happy Saturday!
