A whole lotta fun

Fun thing # 1 - Back in April we found out a circus was coming to Poway. I've never been to a circus and we went on their website and watched a clip of one of their shows and it was impressive. They sent us these tickets in the mail and they were a pretty good price so we went! I also invited my really good friend Natalie to come with me and our cousins the Bakers came too! Here I am in front of the big sign they had.

Ok so you know I LOVE elephants right? They had Elephant rides and it was like $ 12 for 3 of us so of course we went on the elephant!

Another picture before we got off of the elephant

Fun thing # 2 - Cupcake decorating! This time I just seriously went WILD! Take a look!
View of the cupcakes
All of them. Yuuum....they were chocolate with cream cheese frosting.

Fun thing #3 - Camping with the Young Women! Before we go to girls camp they had us go camping before. We went to a place called Dixon lake about 20 min away. We have a special camping spot we love that over looks the lake! It is so pretty.

We played "Mini Uno" The cards are mini!
This was one of the good shots I got there.
Fun thing #4 - Our Shakespeare group preformed the play "Much ado about nothing. It was sooo much fun! Our tech week was last Mon - Fri and then we preformed on Fri and Sat night. We had LOTS of people come and we did great! It was so fun to be with these kids ALL week long instead of the usual Once a week. (All of us have studied Shakespeare for 1 -2 years)
The whole Cast

Me, Natalie & Megan after the show! (Sorry this isn't a very good picture)

Well that's most of my fun for now! And on a side note My camera is lost and we haven't been able to find it for over two weeks! :-( Were still lokoing though.

Welcome home Evan!

After about 6 days of staying in the hospital......today Evan came home!! He lately has really been wanting to come home and today was the day they finally let him come home! Here is a picture of Evan and his Bear he named "Randy" they gave him in the hospital. He loves this little bear and it is so sweet. They both have on Eye patches. (It helps his vision). His vision is doing better because tonight he said he didn't see double of us.

There was of course lots of "Welcoming Home" stuff to do. I had a play reversal so before I left I made a sign and The Bakers & our friends the Hulse's brought signs and balloons and hung them up.

With more signs and Balloons. Evan is loving being home. He keeps saying how happy he is to be at home and not be hooked up to an IV and have to take medicine at 11:00 at night and so on. We are glad to have him home!

Welcome home Evan!!!

Update

Sorry I haven't blogged...life's been a little crazy. Want to see what I mean by like crazy? Here you go!

Last week Evan started out as sick just a bad cough and fever. He was a lot better on Wednesday night and we thought he was fine. On thursday he got back from his piano lesson and was not feeling good. So I'll start my week on Friday.

Friday- Not to much going on for me. I wrote in my journal lots. Evan still isn't doing good. His vision is bad and is seeing doubles of things. Has a fever, his neck and legs hurt. Finally he is doing so bad my parents take him in to urgent care. The find out he has an ear infection and guess what elts? He has Walking Pneumonia! Uh oh. Not good. Later that night late Evan says his stomach hurts. My dad is up with Evan all night while Evan gets sick.

Saturday- This morning Evan was not doing good. He was having a very hard time breathing and his eyes looked funny. My parents take him to the Children's hospital in San Diego. They had to wait 4 hours to see a doctor. (Evan luckily stayed in the car with my mom while they waited I think) I am home alone most of the day. Dad calls every once in a while to give me an update. He tells me about all the tests they have to do. Within the first 1/2 hour they had done tons of tests on him. They did a cat scan on his head and a VERY painful test were they stick something up your nose and scrape to make sure you don't have the flu.

Sis Davies calls too to find out all the news. I spend most of my time cleaning, on the computer, answering the phone, watching Tv (Did any of you happen to watch the Kentucky derby horse race? ha ha. Yep I watched it. Wow, yeah I didn't even get to the part were they even race and I was board and turned it off. But they did have some neat hats I must say.) Dad calls to tell me the news of what they found. He has Spinal Meningitis. Ouch. Well that explains why his spine hurt. Me and Ryan went to my cousin Dallin's Baptism. Went over to their house after dinner. Dad comes home for the night while Mom stays with him. Aaron comes home from Youth conference.

Sunday - Dad goes back to the hospital. I pack some stuff for Evan to do. (Thought he is not up to it.) Aaron stays home from church he is tired and has a sore throat. I stay home too. My back hurts, I should take it easy since I don't want to get sick and people at church would start freaking out since they know my little bro has meningitis and think I might have it too. Mom comes home from the hospital while dad watches him. She sleeps and takes a shower. Evan eats some lunch at the hospital. That is good! Our ward family is so great. Sis Hulse arranges dinner to be brought for us till Tuesday or Wednesday. Later mom leaves to go back to the hospital. Two people brought us dinner tonight! Wow! They were both yummy. Dad is back home and mom will stay the night with him tonight. I emailed my old art teacher and good friend Kara and let her know about Evan. She emailed me back. I would like to share part of the email she wrote to me. Last year I gave her a book of mormon and marked some scriptures for her to read. (She is not LDS)I kind of forgot about it and never knew if she read it. Here's part of the email.

Kara : Thanks for letting me know and it is so weird I have been thinking about you all weekend, John (gaughan) asked me if I ever read the Mormon Bible you gave me (I told him that story a long time ago) and I said that I have read the scriptures that you wanted me to read that reminded you of me many time over the years.

That was SO exiting for me to find out that she had read the verses I had marked for her!

(Still Sunday) Evan is not comfortable hooked to all the stuff. When something comes unplugged it starts beeping and it upsets Evan. He started crying today and told my mom he just wanted to go home. He is not being very responsive to the doctors & nurses. He will respond to my Mom & dad but is kind of in his own little world. When my dad gets back we go for a walk.

Monday- Slept in and missed my art class. It felt good to sleep. :-)
Dad left for a lunch for work. LOTS of people call through out the day. Two people tell me they have him or are putting his on prayer lists at the temple. Everyone is so nice I talk too. At 11:30 I go down to my cousins house for my math class at 12:00. Get home from math. Dad gets home from his lunch to pick up Ryan to go give Evan a blessing. Evan is doing better. He is more of his normal self and not in his "Own little world" anymore. Mom comes home and sleeps and showers. We receive a wonderful dinner tonight. I write this post and chat online with my friend Natalie

Ok... so to summarize for you

1. Evan is in the hospital with Spinal Meningitis and Pneumonia

2. Evan is doing a little better but it not fully recoverd yet.

3. Evan had an MRI tonight and he did ok on it. His vision is really weird so they had to do an MRI.

4. He will hopefully be home by Wendsay. We pray for a quick recovery.

Thank you if you have prayed, fasted, brought us food, or had Evan in your thoughts.

I will keep you updated. It would be appreciated if you could Fast, Pray and please keep Evan in your thoughts. If you have any questions you can comment.

Grateful for today

I love Sundays. Everything about them. Relaxing, & getting to go to church and filling up my day with the best possible things I get t to learn. The gospel. Today I am just grateful. I had a great Sunday and I just want to share with you some of the things I am grateful and about.

1. To start us off I am so grateful we had a BEAUTIFUL day today! Yeah! It was warm - but not hot. I love those days! They are soooo nice. :-)

2. I am so grateful for all my wonderful leaders and teachers! I have a great Sunday school teacher and Awesome YW teachers & leaders! Thanks especially to my Beehive leaders Sis Mendanhall & Sis Ashcraft! Sis Mendanhall gives such great lessons (Thanks!) & Sis Ashcraft helps a lot with mutual and keeping the Beehive pres organized! (Thank you!)

3. In our ward we have the BEST YW! They are all such good friends, are so nice, fun to be with, stand up for their beliefs and you feel so loved by them! We are all friends and I am so grateful for them!

4. I am gratful for a great ward choir. For our chorister and our pianist who prepare and our ready to help sing praises. I'm thankful for their time and effort. Our choir is small and were working towrds gaining some more people so if you'd like to join us go ahead. :-)

5. And Last I am SO very grateful for this one person who I would be nothing without. My Savior, lord, Jehovah,The lamb of god, My Brother Jesus Christ.
(An original painting in the conference center)
I also want to share this scripture I found last night that was marked in my scriptures as a was preparing for a spiritual thought for me Beehive Pres Meeting this morning. I am too very grateful for this scripture.

Abraham Chapter 3
Verse 22 Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;

Ok think about that- We in the latter days are the Noble and great ones god saw before the
world was created! We need to live up to that and be called as the "great and noble ones".

Verse 23 And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham (I like to personalize the scriptures so I put my name Marianne in insted of Abraham. You can do that too.) , thou art one of them; thou wast chosen before thou wast born.

Again WE are the ones who god saw, who were good and said "These I will make my rulers". And he tells Abraham he is one of them.

I hope you have learned at least one thing from my post and Is there anything you are especially grateful for today?

Nature pictures

I thought I would put some recent nature pictures I have took. I took some of them in Utah. Enjoy!

Blue Flower. I like this one because you can see the other flower behind it.
A yellow flower. There were so many flowers at the temple!
Reach for the sky!
More flowers at the temple.
Our fence, the sky and our big trees. I love this picture because it is blurry and in focus at the same time.
I tried taking a black and white pic of the sky and I thought it turned out cool.
More pretty flowers at the temple!

Hope you liked my photography!

Utah pictures

Well I'm back from Utah and here are the pictures! We took over 300 so here are just some of them. :-) We were there from Thursday night - Monday morning. All of the pictures are from Saturday except the 1st picture.

As we were driving up to Utah we ran into a rain and snow storm! Look at how much snow is on the mountains! I think there was more now then when we went to Utah in January!

Saturday was the big wedding day! My cousin Brad got married! TI have never been to the salt lake temple before. It was so pretty!
Another picture of the temple
Brad and Stephanie. They were so happy.

I Babysat the younger kids while the grown ups were in the temple. They were really good and it was fun to be with them. On the left is Natalie, Middle is Anya, and on the right is Kate.
Anya loved to run around on the grass. She is so cute! And her smile is really cute too!

Anya and her puppy. She was so cute with it. She would hand it to me and let me hold it and say "My Puppy". And when I told her to give it loves she would kiss it and smile.
After the wedding we had a luncheon at the Garden restaurant. It was really neat and you could see the temple from were you ate.
After lunch some of us went over to go to a tour of the conference center. Here we are outside on the roof of the conference center.

They had lots of original paintings that you usually see copy's of. We got to see the real ones! This is one of my favorite paintings.
And we got to see the room were they have general conference in! I have never been there before. I had always watched it over TV or internet. There is definitely a different feeling when you get to stand there for yourself!
Me standing were they hold General conference. This picture is kind of dark, sorry.
And then that night was the reception. They had dinner earlier for the family and then later a chocolate fountain for everyone elts. My cousin brad is really good at the piano so before the cake and dancing he played a song for her.
And guess where they chose to go for their honey moon?? Disney land! They were also going to go to Sea world and the San Diego Zoo too. Hope you liked the pictures!

A picture of a ornge rose. I took this Over Easter weekend. Which brings us to Easter Weekend!
Me & my Mom did it. We went for it. We tried it. Ok...We were brave and Tried making Bakerella's Easter pops on Friday and Saturday. The ones Shown in the picture are pretty cute. But We didn't bother taking pictures of the other ones... If you know what I mean. They were really yummy but just not cute on the outside. Aaron took them for a treat for his Date he had that night. The girls liked them so that was good. :-)Anyways we were experimenting and it was fun to try!

On Sat Afternoon we had an Easter egg hunt down at my cousins house. The race for Easter eggs is on!
Me with me Eggs
And I think this was the ONLY picture took on Sunday! Took by me. My Easter Basket! Anyways Every Easter the Easter bunny comes and hides our baskets with lots of candy and treats. We have to look and find them. I got LOTS of candy a few little things and money! All of ours were hidden in my parents room. Me and Aaron wondered if the Easter bunny had got lazy or was trying to trick us. :-)

Last Night at enrichment we made these cute blocks! You could pick what you wanted them to say. We picked Home. I really liked how they turned out!
